Yacht Riggers located in Cape Town South Africa - Asociated Rigging

Cape Town to Busan, Korea

Phase 1: Cape Town

After splicing and preparing the running rigging package for Matrix Yacht’s new Mirage 760 (boat #2) we became involved in preparing and dressing the mast at Matrix’s  factory in Killarney Gardens.

On 24th June 2014 we stepped the mast in the Elliott Basin of Cape Town Harbour.

The yacht was then moved to the Cape Grace Marina area of Cape Town Harbour for completion.

The yacht’s owner wanted the entire yacht to be packaged and shipped to his home port of Busan in South Korea.
10th July 2014: For us this entailed un-stepping, stripping, preparing the mast and rigging for re-stepping and then boxing and packaging mast, spars, standing rigging and running rigging.

Phase 2: Busan, Korea

Warren travelled with Mark Wehrley of Matrix Yachts to Busan in South Korea . Their tasks included dressing, preparing and re-stepping the mast and rigging with Mark undertaking sea trials, commissioning and handing over the yacht to the proud owner.

The container ship was delayed by several days and the yacht was offloaded on 27th August. The following day Warren received the mast and rigging boxes and began his work in earnest.
